There are more than twenty-five Minnesota wineries. The Minnesota wine industry has been steadily growing since the mid-1970s, and offers a wide variety of wine produced from Minnesota-grown grapes. These grapes come from hardy stock, as they have a relatively short growing season and must survive the extreme cold of Minnesota winters. Yet Minneapolis is on the same latitude as the Bordeaux wine region in France, home to some of the best wines in the world. It is no surprise that Minnesota wines taste so good.
