Poached Pears

4 Red Bartlett Pears
1/3 cup Sugar
1/2 Cup water

Halve 4 red bartlett pears lengthwise remove cores. Place 1/3 cup
sugar on a plate.Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Press cut
side of each pear half in sugar. Place cut side down in skillet. Cook
until beginning to brown 8-10 minutes. Add the water cover the pan
simmer until the pears are tender..Remove pears from the pan. Spoon
sauce over the pears.
