Cook up a Bed and Breakfast Experience

It is with great intention that we use the word "beyond" in the title and content of the Minnesota Bed and Breakfast Association's second cookbook, Minnesota Mornings and Beyond We meant it to be more than breakfast recipes initially. You'll often experience afternoon snacks, a full cookie jar, and sometimes tea or evening appetizers for special holidays. Within some regions of our state, innkeepers work together promoting their area and offer tours of their inns with special treats during the holidays or to raise funds for a local cause. Many of the MBBA inns even offer lunch and or dinner.

But we encourage thinking about what "beyond" also means as it relates to a B & B experience. The thesaurus lists synonyms such as

  • remote and more remote
  • farther
  • free of
  • outside
  • past
  • superior to
  • without
  • yonder

Any one of these words would relate to a Minnesota B & B experience. Often traveling to a little out of the way inn, on a country road, passing through a town you may not have visited if it were not for this reservation certainly fits "remote" or "beyond". As innkeepers we certainly like to think your B & B experience will be "superior to" any other lodging opportunity available. That is one of the definitions we like best and strive to offer with fine food, comfy furniture, luxury "without" comparison and details, details, details. If we think of "beyond" as "free of" that too is B & B, such as "free of" noise, pollution, interruptions, traffic.

There is nothing that the Minnesota B & B Association members would like more than for you to come and enjoy their fine food and think "beyond"! (Cookbook is temporarily unavailble.  Please check back - sorry for any inconvenience)
