The Firelight Inn on Oregon Creek

In 1910, George G. Barnum, a successful businessman, world traveler and phlanthropist commissioned architects to build a home large enough to showcase his collection of art and accommodate frequent guests--a home to reflect the significance of his land ownership and wealth.  In keeping with the history of the mansion, it has been renovated and furnished in a lasting and timeless Traditional style with modern luxuries and we offer it to you as an elegant bed and breakfast experience.  

Your day begins with a sumptuous breakfast delivered to your suite.  You might enjoy taking your breakfast basket and enjoying it on the second floor deck accessed from the Barnum and Brookside Suites.  We would be happy to serve you at the dining room table or front porch if you so prefer.  Later imagine yourself relaxing on wicker furniture in the 1000 square foot glass porch of the home reading a book, playing a game or just doing nothing at all!  Amidst the hustle and bustle of tourist attractions and everyday life in Duluth, you can hear the sound of babbling Oregon Creek as it flows to Lake Superior.  

Each of the five suites are unique and feature a gas fireplace, king or queen size bed and feathertop mattress, Jacuzzi whirlpool for two, TV/VCR/DVD, audio system, CD player, oversized bathrobes, private baths, towel warmers, hair dryers, magnifying mirrors and luxurious amenities.  

The Inn is a perfect setting for your romantic getaway yet only minutes from Canal Park, Duluth attractions, fine restaurants, and the Duluth Aerial Lift Bridge.

The Firelight Inn has been featured in Better Homes and Gardens, Coastal Living, Country Almanac, Minnesota Monthly, and Mpls/StPaul Magazines and in the Minneapolis Star Tribune Newspaper, St. Paul Pioneer Press Newspaper and other noteworthy publications.    

A Certified Massage Therapist is available by appointment for massage therapy in our Woodland Suite.  Just a walk down the stairs or hallway in your Firelight bathrobe for a relaxation massage and then return to your suite for a bubble bath in the whirlpool.  Hot stone massage is also available by appointment.

A Firelight Celebration Package $50 includes a bottle of champagne on ice, two souvenir satin-etched "The Firelight Inn" champagne flutes and a platter of cheese, fresh fruit and crackers.

Don't want to venture out for supper?  Our homemade Minnesota Chicken Wild Rice soup and fresh bread is the answer.  We will deliver everything you need for an intimate dining experience in your suite.  $25 or $35 with a bottle of wine.

Would you like a Cheese, Fruit and Cracker platter ready in your suite upon arrival?  Let us know and we will prepare just that for $20.

Chilled champagne and chocolate covered strawberries are the ultimate treat!  $35

Are you celebrating a Honeymoon or Anniversary?  The Firelight Inn was chosen "Best for Honeymoon and Anniversary" by travelers.  Enjoy an overfilled wicker basket of champagne, two souvenir champagne flutes, chocolates, a lacey pillow, a beautiful candle jar, silk flowers, decorations and a huge bow.  $149

A Firelight Inn Babymoon is a get away for a memorable and restful experience together before your baby is born.  Mom and Dad-to-be will be pampered with one-hour massages.  A special Babymoon basket including gifts for baby and Mom and Dad will be in your suite upon arrival.  A Wild Rice Soup Supper and Sparkling Juice is delivered to your suite in the evening and to top it off, we will deliver ice cream for your to enjoy together. $229

Our Romance Each Day Package is the perfect plan!  Upon your arrival, a Firelight Romance Basket will be on your bed, two one-hour relaxation massages are scheduled during your stay, and chilled champagne with satin-etched souvenir champagne flutes and chocolate covered strawberries are delivered to your suite!  $249

Enjoy The Firelight Inn and Duluth in the "quiet season" through mid June when rates are reduced and lines are shorter for Duluth attractions!  Lake Superior can be be enjoyed during all Minnesota seasons.
