Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast

Built in 1960 by the Miltich family who had 10 children, the Morning Glory had the opportunity to turn a large comfortable home with 7 bedrooms into 4 spacious casually elegant suites each with private bath; one with whirlpool and 3 with fireplaces. They all have air conditioning, wifi, television,dvd, telephone and access to a large selection of movies. Our guests are also welcome to enjoy the guest livingroom where a fire will generally be crackling in winter or stroll the gardens, relaxing under the pergola with a great book and a cool drink in summer.
Grand Rapids is known for its lakes and trees and is centrally located for some great daytrips. In two hours or less you can be at the Headwaters of the Mississippi or Duluth or Ely in the other directions. In one hour or less you could be birding, hiking or cross-country skiing at Soumi Hills, Scenic State Park, the Lost Forty or any number of close trails.Drive up the Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway for gorgeous fall colors. Hop on the Mesabi Bike Trail just blocks from here, take in a live performance at the Reif Performing Arts Center or in July take in the Showboat, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of several great restaurants, walk downtown to the historic Central School filled with unique shops,tour the Forest History Center or the childhood home of Judy Garland. The Morning Glory offers a wine/cheese social hour on Friday and Saturday nights with a sumputious 3-course breakfast in the morning. Weekdays are a full breakfast and if you must leave before 7:30am a continental breakfast is offered. We try to accomodate special diets as much as we can. Children over age 10 are welcome (any age welcome with the rental of all four suites), no smoking or pets are allowed. We do have Billy, a very friendly border collie mix who is allowed in the common livingroom but not in guest rooms.
