Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast

Ron and Karen had the opportunity in 2002 to turn a very large comfortable home built in 1960 by Mr & Mrs Miltich for their family of 12, into a beautiful b&b with 4 spacious casually elegant suites. All have private baths, air conditioning, wifi, television, dvd, and free access to a large selection of movies. Our guests are also welcome to enjoy the guest livingroom where a crackling fire will usually greet you in winter or stroll the gardens, relaxing on the patios with a great book and a cool drink in summer.
Grand Rapids is known for its lakes and trees and is centrally located for some great daytrips. In two hours or less you can be at the Headwaters of the Mississippi or Duluth or Ely in the other directions. In one hour or less you could be birding, hiking or cross-country skiing at Soumi Hills, Scenic State Park, the Lost Forty or any number of closer trails.Drive up the Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway for gorgeous fall colors. Hop on the Mesabi Bike Trail just blocks from here, take in a live performance at the Reif Performing Arts Center or in July enjoy a vaudeville show on the Mississippi river when the Showboat comes steaming in. Enjoy a delicious dinner at one of several great restaurants, walk downtown to the historic Central School filled with unique shops, tour the Forest History Center or the birthplace of Judy Garland. Check with Visit Grand Rapids for the complete list of festivals, activities, and performances.
The Morning Glory offers a wine/cheese social hour on Friday and Saturday nights with a sumputious 3-course breakfast in the morning. Weekdays are a full breakfast and if you must leave before 7:00am a continental breakfast is offered. We try to accomodate special diets as much as we can.
Business rates available. Children over age 10 are welcome (any age welcome with the rental of all four suites); no smoking or pets are allowed. We do have Billy, a very friendly border collie mix.
