Morning Glory Bed and Breakfast
Built in 1960 by the Miltich family with 10 children, Ron and Karen had the opportunity to turn a large comfortable home with 7 bedrooms into 4 spacious casually elegant suites each with a private sitting room and bath; one suite with a whirlpool and 3 with fireplaces. They all have air conditioning, wifi, television,dvd, telephone and free access to a large selection of movies. Our guests are also welcome to enjoy the guest livingroom where a fire will generally be crackling in winter or stroll the gardens, relaxing under the pergola with a great book and a cool drink in summer.
Grand Rapids is known for its lakes and trees and is centrally located for some great daytrips. In two hours or less you can be at the Headwaters of the Mississippi or Duluth or Ely in the other directions. In one hour or less you could be birding, hiking or cross-country skiing at Soumi Hills, Scenic State Park, the Lost Forty or any number of close trails.Drive up the Edge of the Wilderness Scenic Byway for gorgeous fall colors. Hop on the Mesabi Bike Trail just blocks from here, take in a live performance at the Reif Performing Arts Center or in July enjoy a vaudeville show on the Mississippi river when the Showboat comes steaming in, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of several great restaurants, walk downtown to the historic Central School filled with unique shops,tour the Forest History Center or the childhood home of Judy Garland. The Morning Glory offers a wine/cheese social hour on Friday and Saturday nights with a sumputious 3-course breakfast in the morning. Weekdays are a full breakfast and if you must leave before 7:00am a continental breakfast is offered. We try to accomodate special diets as much as we can. Children over age 10 are welcome (any age welcome with the rental of all four suites), no smoking or pets are allowed. We do have Billy, a very friendly border collie mix who is allowed in the common livingroom with guest permission but not in guest rooms.
Treat your sweetheart to a romantic getaway at the Morning Glory B&B anytime in February! Package includes flowers in a take home vase, sparkling wine and a certificate for dinner at the Forest Lake Steakhouse. As always, you will enjoy a hearty full breakfast weekdays. Weekend reservations include our wine/cheese social hour and a sumptuous 3-course breakfast. Just add $40 to the price of your favorite suite. Sorry, cannot be combined with any other special or 3rd party gift certificates.
Honeymoon/Anniversary Pkg - $250-285
The best way to celebrate your new marraige or an anniversary is time alone! At the Morning Glory that means a romantic suite with fireplace, whirlpool in bath and a luxuriously comfortable antique queen bed in our Champagne & Roses suite. Add a bottle of bubbly, personally engraved champagne flutes,fresh flowers, a certificate for dinner at the Forest Lk Steakhouse,and breakfast "ensuite". Try our new "Out of the Box Dates" Romance game designed to bring the 2 of you closer than ever! This 2 night pkg is $285 for the Champagne &Roses,Northwoods and Garden, & $250 for the Captain's Qtrs.
Romance Package - $25
This package is great for your wedding night, anniversary or anytime you need time alone with the one you love! When you check into your spacious, beautifully decorated 2-room suite you'll find fresh flowers in a take home vase and sparkling alcoholic (or non) wine.A full breakfast (3 courses on weekends) will be served "en suite". Add $25 to the price of the suite of your choice subject to availability.
Whole House Special - $380-415
Traveling with a group of friends is great fun! Maybe you have family coming for a wedding, class reunion or want a girl's weekend away. There are so many things to do in Grand Rapids and we'd like to help you do them more economically by offering a "whole house rate" of $380 Sun-Thurs; includes a hearty full breakfast daily or $415/Fri-Sat, including a wine/cheese social hour and a 3-course breakfast daily. There is a $10/person/day charge over 8 people.
Winter Special
Winter is a great time to visit Grand Rapids! Rent here or bring your cross-country skis and try one of the 21 different trails in the area or borrow our snowshoes or how about dogsledding? Take in a performance at the Reif or just cuddle with your honey in one of our spacious and beautiful suites-all with private baths and one with a whirlpool. Three suites have fireplaces. Reserve 1 nt for $10 off or 2 nights for a $20 savings. Come join us on weekends for our wine/cheese social hour and 3 course breakfasts. Weekdays enjoy our hearty full breakfast!
