Meadows Inn Bed & Breakfast
We pay attention to details, featuring high quality linens, and luxurious toiletries, plus other comforts of home. Indoor and outdoor games and books are provided for our guests. An air-conditioned European-style home, The Meadows has large windows in each room offering beautiful views. Situated within a canopy of trees, we offer a quiet setting in Historic Bluff Country. Wander around the grounds to enjoy the plants, shrubs and flowers, or visit our fishpond. We have a wonderful patio for relaxation, visiting, reading, or closely observing our colorful songbirds, squirrels, deer and wild turkeys. Enjoy late afternoon snacks and beverages, an early morning snack and coffee, and our highly acclaimed, freshly prepared breakfast. On many evenings, our chiminea outdoor fireplace provides a warm and cozy spot to visit in a virtually mosquito-free environment. A great location for group stays and retreats. We will be your "sag wagon". Stay with us and we will transport your luggage to another Bed and Breakfast further down the trail! E-mail or call us for more details! The Root River State Trail is a 42 mile long multiple use paved trail through rural communities of Fountain, Lanesboro, Whalan, Peterson, Rushford and Houston with a nice 18 mile spur off to Preston and Harmony.

We are starting our lodging season with a great special for those who want to take a chance on the weather. We all know it can be cool and/or wet in and April. We also know that there can be some wonderful days. Why not sign up for a two-night reservation and see what Mother Nature offers up. If you have stayed with us, you know what we offer; a great place to stay, and the food is unmatched! On top of that, there will be few people on the trail. Also, you may take in a night at the Commonweal Theatre or just sit by the fire or cozy up with a good book!
