The Christmas Parade of Lights heralds the official arrival of Santa Claus to New Ulm, Minnesota.  Enjoy the charm of a small town parade that features at least 40 units that are covered with twinkling Christmas lights.  This magical event takes place the Friday evening after Thanksgiving, in 2009 on November 27, in downtown New Ulm.  After the parade, go enjoy some hot chocolate at one of the local restaurants, shop the downtown, and stay overnight at one of the charming bed and breakfasts in New Ulm.  Shop the unique specialty shops that have a German flavor, enjoy the decorated homes in the residential areas, and also view the Glockenspiel clock and park decorated with tiny white lights giving the park a magical look.  Enjoy the traditions of Christmas!
