DREAMING ABOUT INNKEEPING?
The MBBA Beginner and Refresher Innkeeper Workshop are designed for those dreaming of owning an inn or new owners already realizing the dream.
Experienced innkeepers from the Minnesota Bed and Breakfast Association will discuss topics including inn-keeping responsibilities, marketing, legalities, insurance, bank issues, websites and great breakfasts.
Cost of the all-day workshop is $250 for the first person and $150 for the second person from the same inn, sharing materials. The fees include a comprehensive notebook, break refreshments, lunch and the evening reception/meet & greet.
The upcoming workshop precedes the MBBA 2012 Conference April 23 – 25. Attendees are invited to attend the conference with features more intensive workshops and networking with MBBA innkeepers from around the state. A member rate will be offered to attendees who attend the full conference.
Workshop will be held regardless of attendance numbers.

Beginner and Refresher Workshop
The workshop will cover many topics vital to the innkeeping business, including:
Marketing your inn:
Through networking, partnering, brochures, knowing your niche, advertising, memberships, press kits, events, pricing and the internet.
Financial and legal issues:
Including writing a business plan, loans, homesteading, licensing and zoning.
Creating ambiance and quality:
Through image, inside and outside design, curb appeal, professionalism and understanding your role as innkeeper.
Policies and Procedures:
Of deposits, gift certificates, cancellations, credit cards, two-night stays, smoking, children and more.
Plus a question and answer session:
Any questions? Experienced innkeepers from MBBA will be on hand the last part of the session to help answer questions.
