Learn About Quality Assurance!
Quality Assurance Inspection Application Fee to the MBBA
The Quality Assurance Program (QA) and inspection process is
an important
part
of your
Minnesota Bed and Breakfast Association (MBBA) membership.
An application fee of $100 must
accompany your application for membership in the MBBA. This is above
and beyond the dues fee.
The application fee is a one time fee
when membership is continuous, and includes one on-site MBBA Quality
Assurance Inspection. The Inspection is scheduled with you a minimum
of 7 days in advance - it is not a surprise visit! (The application
fee is separate from the membership dues.)
Then every two –three years you will
be inspected again or sooner if your inn changes ownership. The fee
for re-inspection is $50 or $100 for new owners. More time will be
spent with new owners for questions regarding the MBBA or questions
they may have about the industry.
Why Should Minnesota B&B’s be a part of the QA
program?
Why the MBBA has a QA program and why it is
important to you. . .
-
A knowledgeable QA Consultant will inspect your
property and offer advice and helpful suggestions to improve your
inn, at no additional cost to you.
-
You can proudly market that your property adheres
to a high standard of cleanliness, safety and maintenance. All QA
approved inns receive a Certificate of Recognition for display
purposes.
-
Marketing efforts will educate the general public
on the importance of the QA program. The QA logo will appear in
future guidebooks and on our Minnesota website.
Did you know every other state in the country has a similar
program and charges much more than MBBA for inspections? It is
important for our industry to keep up with other states in
assuring quality stays for the public.
-
All inns will be given guidelines in advance of
their inspection.
