Bicycling, in-line skating and hiking in the summer and X-Skiing in the winter. Canoeing down the Root River is an adventure all in itself! Rent a canoe from the Little River General Store (1-800-994-2943), and take the 4-½ trip from Moens Bridge to Whalan. Intermediate water with many small rapids throughout the trip. Look out for the sunken tree trunks! You may find yourself up the creek without a paddle! While traveling down the Root River and State Trail outstanding views of the soaring limestone bluffs and the abundant sighting of wild turkey, deer, hawks and turkey vultures will keep you entertained.
